Lithuania has registered 600 new coronavirus infections and one death from Covid-19 over the past 24 hours, the country’s statistics office said on Tuesday morning.
Lithuania’s 14-day coronavirus infection rate has risen to 275.7 cases per 100,000 people, with the daily share of positive tests unchanged at 4.5 percent, according to the latest statistics.
Some 6,708 molecular (PCR) tests for Covid-19 and 6,708 antigen tests have been performed over the past 24 hours.
Overall, 294,708 people have tested positive for Covid-19 in Lithuania since the start of the pandemic. The number of active cases has edged down to 6,545.
A total of 4,498 people have died from Covid-19 in Lithuania so far. The overall number of deaths directly or indirectly related to the coronavirus has reached 9,166.
Over 15,320 people in Lithuania were vaccinated on Monday: 7,766 got their first shot and 7,554 were given the second jab.
So far, 57.8 percent of the Lithuanian population have been vaccinated at least once, or 68.2 percent of the adults.
