Lithuania has registered 506 new coronavirus infections and two deaths from Covid-19 over the past 24 hours, the country’s statistics office said on Thursday morning.
Both fatalities were aged over 80.
Lithuania’s 14-day coronavirus infection rate has risen to 260.4 cases per 100,000 people, with the daily share of positive tests unchanged at 4.3 percent, according to the latest statistics.
Overall, 291,969 people have tested positive for Covid-19 in Lithuania since the start of the pandemic. The number of active cases currently stands at 6,276.
There are currently 440 Covid-19 patients treated at Lithuania’s hospitals, 51 of them are in intensive care.
A total of 4,466 people have died from Covid-19 in Lithuania so far. The overall number of deaths directly or indirectly related to the coronavirus has reached 9,119.
Over 21,000 people in Lithuania were vaccinated on Wednesday: 11,366 got their first shot and 9,771 were given the second jab.
So far, 56.7 percent of the Lithuanian population have been vaccinated at least once, or 67 percent of the adults.
